Cleaning Your Removable Retainer

Keeping your retainer clean is important for your oral health and to prevent buildup and odor. After removing it, gently brush it with a soft toothbrush and lukewarm water (avoid hot water and toothpaste). For deeper cleaning, you can soak it in a simple solution at home:

  • Bleach soak: 1 cup of water + 1 capful of bleach for 5–10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly
  • Vinegar soak: Soak in white vinegar for 30 minutes to help remove tartar, then brush and rinse

Always rinse your retainer before putting it back in your mouth and store it in its case when not in use.
